Beauté Brute

Beauté Brute is a dance work wherein three female creatures meet. The audience is invited into a dreamlike world where there exists a strong connection to desire, mysticism, and variations of self portrayal. The piece examines a common pulse between the dancers through the lens of femininity and sisterhood. While connecting to a deep sense of fantasy, each character embarks on a path towards feminine expression through a shared experience in ritual.

“Montréal-based LA TRESSE collective taps into [the] elegance of human anomaly in their work BEAUTÉ BRUTE… choreographers and performers Laura Toma, Erin O’Loughlin and Geneviève Boulet are captured writhing, strutting and arcing with unnatural flection and captivating tension.”
