KIN
This work invites audiences on a psychedelic voyage to a universe which is both reflection and refraction of the world as we know it. A microcosm where past, present, and future co-exist, this community proposes an empathetic utopia, playful and fluid in its existence. Drawing upon the intelligence of nature, the work enlivens the senses and employs imagination, curiosity, and sensuality to conceive of an adapted world.
Ce travaille invite le public à faire un voyage psychédélique dans un univers qui est à la fois le reflet et la réfraction du monde tel que nous le connaissons.Un lieu où le passé, le présent et le futur coexistent, ce microcosme défie les prophéties apocalyptiques en choisissant plutôt de puiser dans l'intelligence de la nature pour concevoir un monde plus adapté. Faisant appel à l'imagination, à la curiosité et à la sensualité, “KIN” transporte le public vers une utopie empathique, ludique et fluide.

LUCY M. MAY is a contemporary dance artist based in Montreal. Her choreography, including Anima/Darkroom, Vivarium, Le Goulet and Esemplastic Landing, often asks how environments thread their way through human movement. Formerly a member of Compagnie Marie Chouinard, Lucy continues to perform independently with artists such as Margie Gillis. A graduate of EDCM and CODARTS, Lucy has practiced Krump since 2016. Her work has been presented in Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Sweden.
LUCY M. MAY est une artiste en danse contemporaine établie à Montréal. Sa chorégraphie, notamment Anima/Darkroom, Vivarium, Le Goulet et Esemplastic Landing, questionnent comment les environnements se tissent au mouvement humain. Auparavant membre de la Compagnie Marie Chouinard, Lucy continue de performer de manière indépendante avec des artistes comme Margie Gillis. Elle est diplômée de EDCM et CODARTS, et pratique le Krump depuis 2016. Son travail a été présenté au Québec, en Ontario, au Nouveau-Brunswick, en Nouvelle-Écosse, en Alberta, en Saskatchewan et en Suède.
MATTHEW QUIGLEY is a dancer and creator based in Montreal. He studied ballet at Canada's National Ballet School and then went on to study dance at The Juilliard School receiving his BFA in 2019. In New York, he worked with Company Stephanie Batten Bland, performing works Look Who’s Coming to Dinner at La Mama and Movements Out of Single Use Plastics at the UN in NYC. He collaborated with choreographer Roy Assaf, performing 25 People, Andrea Miller for Gallim’s Stone Skipping during their Met Museum residency, and performed a solo by Danielle Agami during his senior year. He is also an active choreographer, creating work for stage and film — most recently releasing a short film entitled Dino — and is an avid photographer and visual artist.
MATTHEW QUIGLEY est un danseur et créateur basé à Montréal. Il a étudié le ballet à l'École nationale de ballet du Canada, puis a étudié à la Juilliard School où il a obtenu son baccalauréat en beaux-arts en 2019. À New York, il a travaillé avec la compagnie Stephanie Batten Bland, interprétant les œuvres Look Who's Coming to Dinner à La Mama et Movements Out of Single Use Plastics à l'ONU à New York. Il a collaboré avec le chorégraphe Roy Assaf, interprétant 25 People, Andrea Miller dans la pièce Stone Skipping lors de leur résidence au Met Museum, et a interprété un solo de Danielle Agami au cours de sa dernière année. Il est également un chorégraphe actif, créant des œuvres pour la scène et le cinéma. Il a récemment sorti un court métrage intitulé Dino et est un photographe et artiste visuel passionné.
